Of course, the title of the anthology reminds me of an anthology of
science fiction stories by a biochemist who was also a science-fiction
    writer, Earth Is Room Enough.

Although many of the stories in this book do take place in space, even in other star systems, despite the avoidance of FTL.

The United States must simply be restored to the democracy it once was. It
is Russia and the PRC that need to be destroyed as military threats - hopefully without prejudice to the survival of their civilian populations.

The USA, even under Trump, is not yet at the level of Russia and the PRC
as a direct threat to the world's free nations, even though it is
    definitely heading in that direction.

I keep hearing certain individuals insist that the USA was never
supposed to be a ?democracy?, it?s supposed to be some kind of
?constitutional republic? (as though that?s something better than a
    democracy).

The nice thing about the passive voice is that you don?t need to
explain who is supposed to be carrying out the action.

And you heard correctly. You are responding to Quadi. Who is, IIRC, in
    Canada.

I don't recall anyone claiming a republic was /better/, merely that it
was /different/ and so the rules of how parliamentary democracies work
do not apply as well as might be thought.

It is Russia and the PRC that need to be destroyed as military
threats - hopefully without prejudice to the survival of their
    civilian populations.

This is Quadi. I doubt that he has carried the thought out that far.
