Vernor Vinge wrote "A fire on the deep", the best usnet inspired novel.
I've read it three times, and it has an equally or perhaps even more
admired sequel, "A deepness in the Sky".

Having reread A Fire Upon the Deep, I am continuing the trilogy and am
about a third of the way through a reread of A Deepness In The Sky which
I am enjoying more than the five star A Fire... and it is only going to
get better when the races meet.

There's a third book "The Children of the Sky" which I liked a lot, but
lacks the grand scale of the other two, being set entirely on the Tines' world.

I liked it quite a bit.ÿ I had to adjust my perspective a bit, but it
