Hmmmm.... I gave WEN a fair shake several years ago, and most of the
time could not even connect to your system(s) to get any non-existant mail. They were either down completely, or they had been rebuilt and my username/password didn't even exist any more. Completely unreliable and I won't try that again.

It's back on-line if you ever decide to change your mind. It's not always easy to run a network, things happen and there are interuptions. I wouldn't put it down though just because it didn't work for you though. I've gotten good reviews and a lot of people I know enjoy it. I've worked it out and it's going good right now for anybody interested.

I'm not sure why it has been down so much.. I host a couple networks (though I know they aren't very busy) and I keep my BBS running all the time, which means my networks are available all the time.
There have been times on WEN when I've discovered I can't connect anymore or my credentials don't work anymore, and it turned out it was down or the host moved to a different BBS and I didn't receive any notifications about it..

It's been down some because I've been in and out of the hospital a lot lately due to health probelms and can't reach it when I'm in a bed

Running a network can be work to maintain when you're reaching more

Yeah, I am 49 afterall, I don't have 24/7 hours of time
everyday to stare at the screen watching everything all the
time as I did when I was younger. The good point is that I
never gave up regardless of the headaches it caused keeping it
online and keeping it going. I'm happy to keep it around all
this time and for everyone that has everyone and anyone that
has participated. I plan on keeping it going a long time from
now as the net allows.

You're right. It's not fun either, but it does have its good
sides sometimes. If you get hit with a purse expect to get hit
with a cane afterwards. :) Us oldies stick together. :)

Fidonet was going great for awhile
until the hospital visit and being absence from the scene for awhile,
I wasn't really fired, the whole region got removed. Fix your facts man.
