Re: Life got HARD

Bloody hell. On relfecting on life, and the meaning of it all... it seems like the formula used in nearly every video game is the same as the one the universe has used to construct me/us.
Life and video game formula appear to be eerily similar.
Seems like every level gets harder. And when you think you hve fought the final boss, a bigger, badder one emerges. You also realise towards the end that the first levels seemed hard but were stupidly easily, especially if you replay them as an expert. Although you know it won't be as good if you try again.
Cheat codes also defeat the point of the game, or don't work at all.
Yeah, I've had this thought sometimes. I'm thankful I'm doing okay, but there are a lot of life situations that can be challenging and scary. I feel like when I was a kid, there wasn't a lot I was concerned about and I was generally happy - though as you said, there were things to go through like school & stuff, but that seems easy now in comparison.
As adult, I feel like I see more clearly that anything could happen, both good and bad. What if I end up out of work so long that I run out of money? What if a very serious natural disaster happens? What if the economy just becomes very bad in general, like another Great Depression?
In the industry I work in, layoffs are common, and right now, there's one of the worst markets for employees. A lot of companies have had layoffs, and there are a lot of tech workers looking for work. I'm thankful I got a new job offer recently.
Also, health issues are more common as you get older..
Just in general, not everything is smooth sailing all the time. Life has a lot of challenges. I try to keep looking on the bright side of things though.
