    Greetings:

It would be really helpful if it were possible to do searches/sorts with echo-mail and files areas. It gets rather tedious having to scroll page after page looking for a particular group or file. Basically, if it's a list, you should be able to search/sort it.

I'm not sure what this has to do with an updated wiki article but ok.

Try DDMsgReader. It should be in xtrn. The ability to search an echo is
already available. IN the default menu it's "F" for "Find text in
    messages".

That feature is in stock Synchronet too, not just DDMsgReader.

For listing the file areas & message groups/sub-boards, the DD area choosers let you search the list (with / to find and N to find next), and they have user configuration options to sort the lists too.

For searching within messages, as mentioned, the "Find text in messages" option from the menu can do that.

True, but I think it's worth mentioning that it's a good option.

My bad. I should've started a new topic. I figured just changing the Subject line would be sufficient.

    messages".

This isn't about the messages themselves, I know that part. This is about the group listings and the file areas. E.g., FIDONET has page after page of groups and they're in no particular order, which makes it tedious to find a particular item.

I'm looking at this from a user's perspective. If this exists, it's not listed on the help screens.

It's not? For me it's there when I view the help screen:

    / or Ctrl-F: Find by name/description
N: Next search result (after a find)
