• Using Mystic as a Hub

From Mike Dippel@3:712/1321.5 to ALL on Wed Oct 11 13:24:46 2023
I recently switched over to using Mystic as my hub. When someone joins the network, I
want to find an easy way to ensure that all of the conference areas go to all of the
    downlinks.

If I go to the Message Base Editor and select by Network, then Global, is there
    some way
to mark the field 'Export Add' to add all of the downlinks at the same time?

I tried hitting the TAB key to mark them, but hitting the Enter key afterwards just
unchecks them without adding them to the list.

It's a chore to have to go to each conference area and add them one by one.

What version of Mystic are you running? Maybe an upgrade would fix it. I'm running A47

After you finish tabbing the ones you want to edit cursor back up to one of the
tabbed echos and then hit enter, at that point you will see a menu which will allow you to edit all of the echos at one time.. :) I do it all the time..

I tried that many times without success. Maybe that is something new with version 48?
I am running version 47. I want to upgrade, but I am afraid of screwing things
    up and
    losing everything.

in my case A48's daily message database maintenance messed up user message pointers..every day your QWK packet would have a huge portion of old messages in it..

i'm not sure messing with it is worth it just to speed up a process you might do once a year

I was wrong when I said I was using A47. It is A48, but I still have the problem of not being able to Tab the various downlinks and link them to a specific conference area or globally to all of the conference areas. I can tab
for other functions, but not for the Export To: field.

Other than that, I love Mystic!

I just re-read my response, and I was wrong.. What you need to do is tab over each message base you want to do a global change to, when all are chosen cursor
back up and hit /G for Global, once that is done, you will get a menu which allows you to change any item and all of the chosen messages bases will be changed.. I knew I forgot something.. ;)

A48 is solid, I have been running it now since it's release. A49 had issues at first, I believe g00r00 fixed the major issues before he got busy again.. In additon to my last message, here goes, after hitting the /G to global change when you get the menu cursor down to Export Add, change the NO to a YES by hitting enter then cursor over to Export Add and hit enter then choose the echomail nodes you want to export to. I use this function anytime I add a new net and it works fine.. Let me know if you need any assistance with it I can show you in a zoom meet or jitsi meet (I use Jitsi more then zoom).

Doing as you instructed, I went to the Export and tabbed all bases, and it worked. I got
the CTL-U prompt which I never got before. Thanks.
