I'm in the same boat though Opera isn't my browser of choice (and I
    have tried it)

    The Web Browser From Microsoft!
Microsoft Edge is a browser that combines a minimal design with

    Are you lost?

    Sure seems that way.

Frankly the ONLY reason I haven't un-installed Edge is that Microsoft
MIGHT want to use it for updates.

It's a resource pig and slower than what I use so it's a drain on my
    system not a helper.

For me, Edge's biggest deal killer is that I'm unable to find a setting
that prevents the program from closing when the last tab is closed.
However, there are other issues about Edge that lead to me intensely
disliking it. I was using Edge Blocker:

    https://www.sordum.org/9312/edge-blocker-v2-0/

but eventually blocking Edge led to problems because doing so also
    prevented updates to the bloatware.

Now I allow Edge, but not in the background. Every time I open it, it
duns me to make it the default browser. M$ needs to wake up to the fact
that this kind of tactic only serves to generate hatred towards their
    company.
