Why does Mozilla Firefox update itself just about every week?
There was an emergency Firefox update a few days ago, I believe, because
of the e-something-or-other in India screwed up root key generation for
their certificate authority. You can read the details at Ars Technica
or elsewhere.

One of the keys was literally 4, according to the article. I wonder if
they threw a six sided die?
Several keys were found to be under 256, not 256 bits, the number
256. Just 8 bits, tops. (Ok, I see the article already mentions this!)
Somebody made a neat plot of the private keys:

I cannot help with your Firefox account, other than say I am not using
one yet, so there may still be a way to bypass the need. However, I
cannot say how since I don't care about the Firefox user interface after
they started to move everything around all the time.
If you bring back Netscape 7 let me know.
Did it ever go away? :-)
(New SeaMonkey release including a built-in certificate store update
should be coming soon, <

Best wishes, and happy browser wars!
