    Something 'fascinating' in "Where No Man Has Gone Before":
    in the very first scene, as we all know, Kirk and Spock are playing
    chess and setting up the series.

    Spock grumbles, "The fact that one of my ancestors married a
    human female..."
    Spock would obviously be referring to his father.

    “I don't know about any of you, but I, for one, never called my Dad
    merely 'one of my ancestors'.

    In my mind, the ONLY way to read this is that by the time of shooting
    this very early scene, the powers-that-be had indeed determined he
    should have SOME human blood, but had not yet decided how much they
    were going to give him.PP”
