That story sounds like a load of spin.
Hard to explain what the russians were up to dumping fuel on it.
Corse we only have a tiny subset of the total footage.
The Russians managed to
knock out a drone that was spying on them in a way that it was
intact enough to recover and study, which is probably what they
were trying to do given that they didn't just shoot it down.
But even the yanks have worked out how to make them self destruct
when they go down where someone else might be able to grab the
remains and see if they can work out anything useful from it.

Be interesting to see. While it might be tricky under water,
its less clear if it can still see the order to commit suicide
once it is surfaced again and if the russians can stop it
from doing that or even if it has already fallen on its sword.
