• KFC as in-flight meal

British Airways passengers were amazed last weekend when cabin crew started meal service. Instead of the usual airplane meals, the crew went along with buckets full of fried chicken from the fast food chain KFC.

Flight BA252 flies twice weekly from Providenciales Airport in the Turks and Caicos Islands via Nassau in the Bahamas to London. On Sunday, however, it turned out that the catering at Providenciales Airport was not properly cooled, and therefore all food had to be thrown away. This also applied to the food on the more than eight-hour flight from Nassau to London. The airline did not want to delay the flight too much and therefore chose to order chicken from KFC.

The buckets of chicken were picked up at the Nassau airport during the layover. Because the chicken restaurant could only supply a limited amount, not all passengers could get a piece. Images show how crew walks past the seats in Boeing 777 and distributes chicken to the passengers with tongs. Passengers report to foreign media that they have been given vouchers to compensate for the lack of proper catering.
