February has at least 2, sometimes 3.
Not official "holidays" that persons time off from work.
Valentine's does not count.

C'mon, February has already less days and you want to work still less? ?

I didn't say me. I'm self-employed. I work 7 days a week,
10+hr a day.
I'm retired ... I work more than 10+ hours a day .... 8-)

Define work as other than selfish motives and just collecting
$s from the government. ;)

Ehr ... well ... doing all the maintenance on the three
apartments which I, a son and a daughter occupy, run the
finances connected to these dwellings, do all the food
shopping for 2 families, all the food-prep, the cooking,
everything involved with doing dishes, maintenance of 3
cars (for as much as I can), laundry for 3 households,
drying. folding ... I refuse to do the ironing.
I'm also the only beerdrinker in 3 households ... that's a perk.

That's not work in the traditional sense of doing something to
earn an income! ;) What you describe above are self-generated
tasks for the self.

I'm also the only beerdrinker in 3 households ... that's a perk. That's an unusual thing to mention on the topic of work.
On the contrary ... domestic work has a very high
contribution factor to the national economy up to the
point that stay-at-home mams/dads should receive a salary
just for that...

The topic was "family day" last time I looked ...

Who is supposed to pay that salary?
But the context was work. ;) However, I'm sure you "work"
hard to acquire those beers.
Who is supposed to pay that salary?
The government, i.e. everybody via their taxes ...
Amazing, that discussion has already been had here ... my
very wife was in such a program for close to 10 years
where she was paid as a stay-at-home mam.
The sweat is dripping from my forehead ... what do you
know about beer btw?

Your income to support her wasn't good enough?
Enough to know that regular consumption is not good for the
body.

Why do I need to support a female? Are you still at the
"Daddy brings home the bacon" level? That's pre-historic.
The system is pretty straightforward. [...]
[...] When the stay-at-home person returns to the
job, the fill-in person has had the opportunity to get
work-experience and stands a better chance of applying for
a job ...
Some people call it a win-win ...

Canadian beer is very good at cleansing the urinary tract.
I disagree. He does not get paid, presumably, but a lot
of those tasks are tasks that have to be done so I would
not call them self-generated (like, say, hobby
activities), and they can be a lot of work, both mentally
and physically.
Why do I need to support a female? Are you still at the>compensations. The gov't does too - for up to 6 months if I

Some companies in Canada do offer a maternity leave and
Paternity leave is also now a thing.
Some of the new dads or mams don't even bother returning to>their previous employer, and basically run with the money.
