What was your favorite game in the original Epyx Games Series?

    Sumer Games
    Summer Games II
    Winter Games
    World Games
    California Games

I am excluding "The Games: Winter and Summer Eddition" as while I felt the
graphics and music was better, the game play was sorely lacking from the
    original games.

    California Games

I liked a mix of games from them. I liked hackey sack and disc toss in California Games, Hot dog and bobsled in Winter Games, and pole vault / diving in Summer Games.

I never cared for the games where you had to wiggle the joystick back and forth nearly breaking your gear.

Having the original EPYX controller playing these games on the C64 seems like the best way to play them. I also enjoyed BMX on the Atari 2600.

Surprised you did not mention Summer Games: Skeet shooting which is one everyone mentioned.

Yes the Bobsled was a favorite in Winter Games.

I never cared for the games where you had to wiggle the joystick back and forth nearly breaking your gear.

Nearly? Do you know how many Atari Joysticks I went through on those games? Especially the ones you had to cross controll the Up/Down + Left / Right quadrants? The Epyx joysticks were best for these events as well as the WilCo Commander joysticks.

Oh and word to the wise, never play the 100 Meter Dash when you are on the phone with a girlfriend. You WILL be asked what you are doing, and you might (as in my case.) be called a liar when you respond that you are playing a computer game.

Of the ones I've played, California Games certainly has the most
attention to detail in terms of graphics, animation, music, and
gameplay. I found the individual games pretty difficult compared to
previous instalments, though that probably adds to the replay value.

Winter Games was a step up over Summer Games and Summer Games II in
terms of graphics. The gameplay is about on par with Summer Games,
sharing the drawbacks that some of the individual games are too
repetitive or too similar to other games.

For Summer Games you can't beat the nostalgia factor. The events strike
a good balance in terms of length, difficulty, and style. The graphics
are serviceable and it was always fun to hear the national anthems, even
if many of them were completely fictional.

Summer Games II is probably my favourite, but only just barely. There's
a big variety of different game types, and unlike in the other
instalments, none of them seem overly short, overly long, overly
simplistic, or overly difficult. The fencing event is great fun for two players, since you directly interact with your opponent rather than
simply observe them on a split screen.

I've never played World Games, but I have watched others play it a few
times. I admire its humorous touches, such as in the cliff diving event
when the player strikes the bottom or the bird gives its reaction.

On the whole, I'm always happy to play any of the games in the series.

    Regards,
    Tristan

I think my favorite was World Games. After playing that with a buddy on
