    i installed rh 7.3 and my telnet file in /etc/xinetd.d looks like this:

    service telnet
    {
    flags =3D REUSE
    socket_type =3D stream
    wait =3D no
    user =3D root
    server =3D /usr/sbin/in.telnetd
    log_on_failure +=3D USERID
    disable =3D no
    }

    i have telnetd installed but not in.telnetd. what is the difference?

    is in.telnetd just a renamed copy of telnetd?

    if not, how do i install it?

    a google groups search was no help.

    thanks in advance.

    mainly the gnu telnetd was named telnetd and the netkit telnetd was in.telnetd
    in.telnetd seems for inetd only, inetd pass remote client's connected socke=
    t to in.telnetd's STDIN_FILENO, telnetd is a single deamon listen on port = and accept connect, then process client by itself.

    I know it is google groups, but unless we tell the posters committing
    this crime, they will never know and continue doing it.
