  • The Backrooms and Exit 8

    Just recently I watched the film "Exit 8", based off a video game that "plays" with the same kind of cultural construct of the "liminal spaces horror"...
    It is a "common sense" construct of these days that "the youth is screwed up and doesn't think because they don't want to or can't find an incentive to"...
    These movies give out the idea that not only is not all lost, but also these late-teenagers laugh in the face of criticism and don't wait and go ahead and make some senseful and sensible pieces of artwork.
    I highly recommend both and wish to find more examples of young artists that still prove that human thought is limitless and no machine will surpass it.

    Pffff, who needs a movie. I see that every day.

    These movies give out the idea that not only is not all lost...

    I understand you don't pay attention to the subject of the messages you read. Both movies I recommend get mentioned there.
    The Backrooms *and* Exit 8.

    Moreover, the reason of my original message is that, if it had come down to only one movie standing out as The Backrooms did in terms of philosophy, politics, psychology, culture and such, I would've left it there, but as it happened, I watched a second movie in a row, with the same appareant heaping amount of thought-food behind it, it spurred my keyboard-assaulting message-posting on.

    You're quite right, I didn't look. A bad habit I've acquired, unfortunately. I shall endeavor to be more observant.

    Never heard of Exit 8, but I did see Backrooms a couple weeks ago. Not something I'd watch again, but it wasn't bad; certainly different. I had seen the original Backrooms short online, which I kinda liked better.

    Before that I'd never heard of liminal spaces. Started checking out pics online. Interesting stuff.
