I thought this level of CONTROL was more than a bit much.

Oh nice what distro? My wife also uses Linux Ubuntu. It's fine for her needs. I would like to use it too but I play World of Warcraft and have been for the past 20 years. I have seen this being played through a WINENever before has a program been installed as a replacement.

That's why I moved to Linux 20+ years ago. Microsoft's attitude was "we own the computer you purchased" and I didn't like that.

WINE - a windows eliminator - was my understanding. It was kinda buggy
of a process. I might in the future because linux is always improving
as it is open-source.
A Kaspersky employee also shared an official statement on the company's official forums regarding the forced switch to UltraAV, saying that it "partnered with antivirus provider UltraAV to ensure continued protection for US-based customers that will no longer have access to Kaspersky'srotections.
"Kaspersky has additionally partnered with UltraAV to make the transition to their product as seamless as possible, which is why on 9/19, U.S. Kaspersky antivirus customers received a software update facilitating the transition to UltraAV," it added.
