Facebook suspended my account about a year ago, but first they demanded that I provide them with a selfie. I decided that they could shove it up their butts.

So a few months ago I signed up for Facebook again, this time with a new email address. They let me on and I used it without any issues this whole time, until tonight. I got an email from those f'n a'holes:

"Aaron, you have 180 days to take action. Hi Aaron,Your Facebook account has been suspended. This is because your account, or activity on it, doesn't follow our Community Standards on account integrity."

...and when I considered trying their appeal bs, this is what they said:

"Confirm your identity with VIDEO selfie (they're not getting off on photos anymore!)

To make sure you're a real person, we need you to record a video selfie. We'll ask you to move your head during the recording to help us capture your face at different angles."

And you guys know how I am so there's no way in hell that I'm gonna make a video for them to jack off to. This confirms that they can totally shove facebook up their butts!

A couple things I want to point out about this Facebook suspension that I left out:

1) If I "violated their community standards" then why are they inviting me to share a video selfie with them? That will make them forgive me whatever horrible thing I did wrong?

2) What does a video selfie even prove? If I go to a store to buy beer, they aren't going to accept a video selfie as ID. So what gives?

Their elitism (whether it's automated or not) disgusts me. And I didn't do anything wrong. I get on Facebook and I watch the reels that they show me and then I sign off, and today was no different than any other day.

They flagged your account, rightfully, as a duplicate account, which
goes against their standards.

Thomas2, if you hadn't broken their account integrity guidelines to get
around a ban.

The only time I've ever had to do something similar to this was when I was on vacation and had an issue with a credit card. But their process was very clear as to why they wanted a picture of my driver's license, etc. And everything they did made sense (i.e. if the situation was reversed, these would be the same things that I'd ask for).
