.... and, having watched it, and not making too much sense of it,
(ObjDrWho) I moved on to a really EXCELLENT ADVENTURE film which
followed two guys (Bill and Ted) as they travelled through Time (not
Space) in a Telephone Box!!

Well Reddit seems to think making this connection might drum up some
extra trade for Dune part 2.
Aside from the the Tatooine sand-scape, i can't really see this
'influence'. Not visually not theme-wise, nor in the subtext of
either.
On the other hand the 'The Hidden Fortress' by Akira Kurosawa, if you've
seen it, is the undoubted influence for star wars.
