The meek shall inherit, we're told,
But I'm not so easily sold.
    For supposing they should
It would do them no good.
They'd lose it at once to the bold.

Hello Melissa, every time I read that line I think of the promo for "Night of the Living Dead"

"The dead shall inherit the Earth."

Not any big conspiracy or anything, I simply removed the first newsgroup from your crosspost:

    "alt.arts.poetry,alt.arts.poetry.comments,rec.arts.poems"

Since JLA Forums doesn't carry "alt.arts.poetry," and the post eventually appeared.

    Abc so it goes.

We must all hope Ray is immortal. Usenet would be in worse shape without

The very same "sacred text" that mentions this, once, also mentions
killing the infidel, raping their women, smashing babies' heads onto

I suspect we can judge which behaviours the writers considered

Still, it's a nice limerick, Melissa. Thank you.

    I'm keeping a copy if that's okay?

Sure, go right ahead. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I've looked online and haven't seen the quote in connection to the movie (or the similar comic book from 1973), which is surprising.
