That is one of my favorites of your 2020 poems, Will. I like the way it starts slow, almost like conversation, and leads inexorably, into the rather chilling image of the horde of ghosts at the end.
My term for that is "Filler and chiller"; it's something I got from Colin Ward - I can't find his original comments on Usenet. The basic idea is that the reader starts off reading one poem, and then suddenly, as a result of some lines, abruptly finds himself in another one entirely.
Other readers might disagree; but at least this may give them the incentive to go to the blog and read the complete poem for themselves.
