  • Walter Koenig's Favorite Star Trek Episode And Why It's The Perfect Sen

Subject: Walter Koenig's Favorite Star Trek Episode And Why It's The Perfect Send Off For Chekov!

Walter Koenig called ?Spectre of the Gun? his favorite Star Trek
episode ? and the reason why is a perfect tribute to everything he
brought to Chekov and to the original series. In this follow-up to
yesterday?s eulogy, I break down what made this season three episode
stand out: Chekov gets a romance, a death scene, and a moment that
makes Kirk?s final choice land with real weight. Koenig said the
episode?s stylized look gave it ?some class and some style? despite its
low budget ? and he was right. This is the episode that proved Chekov mattered. A fitting send off for a legend.

I think this is one of the better episodes of season three. The infamous thiird season low budget forces them to make some interesting choices,
and thus we get a surreal set that compliments the epiosde. It was
always a treat to see some character other than one of the "big three"
get a moment to shine, and Walter Koenig makes the most of his chance in "Sepctre of the Gun".
