Thanks for this - and congratulations on your nomination, too.

Thank you! Either I win this time or I become the only person to
be nominated five times for BFW without winning, either of which
    is fine with me.

I had expected the 2023 scandal to cause voting to collapse. We
saw this with the Locus Awards the year they collected the votes,
didn't like the results, and changed how votes were counted. So,
my nomination might reflect only a small number of voters. However,
that's not the case at all. As far as I can tell, most voting
categories had more votes in 2024 than in 2022 (the most recent
year whose numbers we can trust).

The only category I nominated in was Fan Writer, and both of my
nominees made the cut. The only one of the novels that I already own
a copy of, WITCH KING, I haven't read yet (maybe I should schedule
that ophthalmologist consultation...). Other than the significant
number of Chinese nominees, it seems like a very business-as-usual
list, with mostly the same people who have been getting nominated
    since 2017.

    Thank you.

My Hugo career thus far is bizarre. Usually, it's a string of nominations,
then dead silence. Mine seems to be morse code.
