    Ahhh - I have fond memories of watching the animated series, but very
    few specific ones.

    One I do remember well was the one where the Enterprise is hit by a
    mysterious signal/wave, and the organic material on the ship (incl the
    crew) begins shrinking. The crew has to get pretty clever finding ways
    to maintain control of the ship as they get smaller.

    Let's see ... the internet tells me this is ?The Terratin Incident?,
    Season 1, Episode 11.

    I have never actually see the animated series, but when I read these as a
    kid I thought they were better than the James Blish adaptations of the original series. There were a lot of interesting characters brought in
    who weren't part of the original set of Enterprise officers and that made
    for a more interesting story to my mind.

    I did eventually see the ST:TOS show maybe a decade and a half after it
    was cancelled and I was very disappointed that it wasn't as good as the
    Blish books. I suspect I will have an even worse disappointment watching
    the animated series.

    My memory is that the "Log" books were from Ballantine

    I can confirm that my copy of "Log One" was from Ballantine (cost $0.95).

    I loved the animated TV series and books back in the 1970s. I lost all
    of the books in The Great Flood of 1989.
