I ignore this newsgroup, so I am unlikely to notice a reply. I am a
computer scientist. I do not use Firefox much, but I did install it
onto a Microsoft-Windows-10 machine many months ago. (I do not usually
use that computer. I do not usually use Windows 10. Whilst I use it, I
tend to use CCleaner Browser (which a previous user probably installed
    - I never install CCleaner Browser), which is automatically loaded and
shown on that taskbar, like Microsoft Edge.)

Google Chrome is also installed on that computer.

I explicitly configured that taskbar to show neither Google Chrome nor
Firefox (unless on the rare occassions when I actually manually start
them on that computer), but on Sunday 11th October 2026 I did manually
start Firefox on that computer and it forcefully updated itself to
"What's New in Firefox 157" (but right now Help --> About is saying
    Version 158.0.1 - Firefox.exe is currently timestamped Tuesday 20th
October 2026, and Firefox.exe is in the same directory as files
    timestamped Wednesday 14th October 2026 - e.g. CoreMessagingXP.dll -
    and Sunday 11th October 2026 - e.g. updater.ini - and the next newest
file is dated 5th September 2022 (the 1st time I saw this computer is
1 day earlier)). Since then, Firefox insists on being on that taskbar
just after booting and it also dares to show a window, despite no
attempt by me to run it again after I shut this computer down on 11th
October 2026. It says: "Update We've introduced a Firefox Terms of Use
and updated our Privacy Notice. Please take a moment to review and
accept. Learn more Accept". I see no obvious possibility to log on,
but maybe logging on would be needed after reading "Terms of Use" and
"Privacy Notice" and "Learn more" and "Accept".

Unlike different webbrowsers, I see no absolutely easy way to see its
browsing history's timestamps. Other than a browsing history for 11th
October 2026, it is showing only rare usages from months ago.

Is this market not nearly 100% had by Opera? Google Chrome and Firefox
    are gratis.
