• death of Terry Carter

Terry Carter was an actor I always liked despite often being the token
black actor on a tv series. He must have had a ton of talent, because as
Sgt. Broadhurst, the viewer still remembered him despite Dennis Weaver's over-the-top antics as McCloud. McCloud wasn't good but it was
ridiculous enough to be entertaining. Carter's presence kept the show
slightly grounded and without him and J.D. Cannon as Chief Clifford, the
show would have been completely unwatchable.

I knew he played Colonel Tigh on the original Battlestar Galactica but
that show didn't make a big impression on me and, despite the budget,
the lousy scripts made it largely forgettable except for the theme song.

Not just the Main Title, but every episode had elaborate symphonic underscore. Sigh... those were the days.

Yes, you're right. I just don't recall that music. The title music I can
hum. These were monies well spent. Now, if Glen Larson had spent another
nickel on scripts, that series really could have been something.
