The Gold [US linear premiere] (10 pm, PBS)

Masterpiece's newest import is a retelling of one of the most infamous crimes in British history: The 1983 Brink's Mat robbery, in which six
men broke into a security depot near Heathrow Airport expecting to walk
off with a modest score but who instead stumbled across a shocking œ26 million worth of gold bullion.

If they weren't expecting the gold, how did they get away with it, considering how much gold weighs? That much gold would bottom out most vehicles.

The series follows David (Michael Iskander), a young shepherd who,
during the reign of King Saul (Ali Suliman), rises to prominence by
defeating Goliath (Martyn Ford) and ultimately becomes the future King
of Israel. Eight episodes; requires a Wonder Project subscription on
    Prime Video.

I no longer get Prime! so...

And even if you did, you'd apparently need to pay for some extra subscription to see it.

Ian?s Wikipedia article on the robbery says

?gold bullion, diamonds, and cash stolen?

?Most of the gold has never been recovered.?

?The robbers thought that they were going to steal around œ1 million worth
of Spanish pesetas,[3][8] but they also found three tonnes (96,000 troy oz)
of pure gold bullion[9] outside the main vault in 152 bars in 76 cardboard boxes. The gold had been stored at the warehouse overnight before being due
to be transferred to Hong Kong the next day.[8] In addition, they stole platinum, 1,000 carats of diamonds and $250,000 of traveller's cheques.[10]
The total value of their haul was œ26 million (equivalent to œ111 million
    in 2023)?

They got it someplace and smelted it down into coins to continue
transporting it, but Ian doesn?t answer your question about how the hell
they got it away from the vault in the first place.

Metric dollars are almost worthless. They have never gotten away with it in
    the United States.
