At least this show is "popular" rather than "beloved" ... although I've
never even heard of it.
Popular Prime Video TV Show Moves to Netflix for Season 2
---------------------------------------------------------
For its second season, Prime Video's popular game show
Pop Culture Jeopardy! has officially moved to a new
streaming home in the form of Netflix. The series is a
brand-new twist on the classic quiz show's
"answer-and-question" format that combines the academic
rigor of the original game show. This renewal comes
nearly a year after the spin-off made its debut on Prime
Video, with Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost hosting
the first installment.
"Contestants test their pop culture knowledge in various
categories - from 'Horror Made Wholesome' to 'Bummer Movie
Endings' - covering TV, movies, and music," reads the
streamer's description of the show. "But the topics aren't
the only thing that's different from the original quiz
show. In this tournament-style game, teams of three play
through knockout rounds until one emerges triumphant. And
it wouldn't be a competition show without a life-changing
grand prize and, of course, bragging rights."
What did Sony Pictures Television say about Pop Culture
Jeopardy!'s move to Netflix?
According to Deadline, Jost is currently in talks to return
as the host of Pop Culture Jeopardy! Season 2, which is
expected to premiere sometime in 2026 on Netflix. The first
installment served as Jost's first time hosting a
competition TV show. It is produced by Sony Pictures
Television's Game Show Division.
"Pop Culture Jeopardy! captivated an audience with its fun
and energetic gameplay, building on the beloved franchise
and offering fans an opportunity to test their zeitgeist
knowledge," Sony Pictures Television executive Suzanne Prete
said in a statement. "We couldn't be more thrilled to be
partnering with the exemplary team at Netflix to bring more
episodes to our passionate and loyal viewers."
