    Minimally recommended.

Agreed, William music was by far the best part. The script was galactically >stupid.

Also agreed. I liked the actors but just never got into the movie.
Ended up watching it over multiple days in small segments. It should
have been an engaging movie but it never gelled. Even the big dino
didn't do anything for me. I could see it as being scary due to it's
size but didn't care about or the fate of the bad guy, or really
anyone that died in the movie. Only time it came close to making me
care was with the first death with the guy on one side pleading for
the woman to open the door.

I agree that it has moments that don't look as real as it should but
the bigger problem is the story. With a better story it would have
worked even with the digital problems. I never felt like the picture
quality took me out of the movie. There was just never enough in the
story to get me in to the movie.

The picture quality took me out of the movie most of the way through. And especially when they got to the secret island at the end that looked
awesome and completely and totally unreal. At least back in the first movie
it looked like a real island with fantasy creatures. Here the island was so
fake looking that the fake creatures didn?t surprise you at all when they showed up.

Surprisingly, the video asserts that "feeling real" has more to do with
what is shown rather than its realism (...though one particular shot of synchronized dolphins is casually derided for looking fake).

I can't help wondering how much of what we saw on the screen was real?
With the original film much of what we saw was real or at least meant
to be like that. Think about all of the mechanical dinos. None of that
was in this movie. Would love to know just how much of what we saw was
    real.

You're probably right that the "mechanical" creatures retain the visual advantage of actually being there in front of the camera. But, with the inevitable march of CGI progress, it'll be interesting to see how long
that advantage lasts. Related: watching the new MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, I
saw Tom Cruise doing stunts I assumed *had* to be CGI (but weren't).
