Police Lt. Frank Dreben Jr. takes up where Dad left off, as THE NAKED
GUN revives a comedy classic. The effort is sincere, but the result is
more often nostalgic than hilarious. Liam Neeson is a good sport about things, and not-half-bad at deadpan, yet it was hard not to be reminded
of Leslie Nielsen's surprising perfection. Somewhat recommended.

I stopped watching at the 40-minute mark - right about the scene with
the snowman. I was actually getting a headache due to how horrid this
mess is.

I suspect that people who didn't see the original (and AIRPLANE) are
likely to have a better time with it. Even so, I laughed a few times.

Oh, I saw The Naked Gun (2025) from a public library DVD.
This proves that the DVD format and the public libraries
are *current* technology, not "obsolete".
Well, I mean, someone who posts on USENET *would* say that...

I remember there were all sorts of jokes about Leslie Nielsen and Erik >Nielsen (not to be confused with Erik Charles Nielsen who is an
American actor/comedian) switching places - the Royal Canadian Air
Farce once did a brief 2 or 3 minute spoof of Leslie Nielsen switching
places with his brother (who was Canadian Deputy Prime Minister in the
80s) in the Canadian Parliament (which is not normally known for
spoofing)

The ONLY time I laffed was at the thermograph scene with Pammy Anderson.
That was actually quite funny. After that it is all downhill for me.
