• List of Union Demands from Starbucks Workers United

From BTR1701@3:633/10 to All on Mon Nov 24 18:09:47 2025
We, the employees of Starbucks Corporation and members of Starbucks Workers United present the following demands to Starbucks management:

    (1) Baristas must be allowed to work from home if they choose. The customer
can be directed in the app with the barista's address where they can pick up their coffee.

    (2) Employees should have 375 sick days per year. It's the industry standard. Anything less is a human rights violation according to the Genevieve Convention.

    (3) The company must print a land acknowledgment on every cup of coffee.

    (4) Three hours of break for every 30 minutes fo work. Non-negotiable.

    (5) Six to 12 months of maternity leave for every pregnant man who gives
birth. This will be known as the Buttigieg Rule.

    (6) Baristas will have the right to deny service to any heterosexual, white,
    or cisgender customers.

    (7) The Starbucks Corporation must pay off the student debt of all employees. And maybe Amazon credit card debt, too.

    (8) Employees will not have to work if they just aren't feeling the vibes that day. Non-consent-based work is harmful and illegal.

    (9) Starbucks must get rid of the horrible green aprons and provide more sensible uniforms that include a keffiyeh and a "Free Palestine" pin.

We demand to be taken seriously.

    Thank you.

Or we can look at what the real demands are:

    https://sbworkersunited.org/our-fight/
It?s time for Starbucks to stop stonewalling its baristas and address
    our three remaining core demands:

We demand better hours to improve staffing in our stores.
Understaffing is rampant, leading to longer wait times as customer
orders stream in. Yet too many baristas still aren?t getting enough
hours to pay the bills or meet the threshold for benefits. Starbucks
needs to invest in increasing our hours.

We demand higher take-home pay, so we can pay our bills. Too many
baristas struggle to get by, while executives make millions. Starbucks
needs to put more money toward our take-home pay.

We demand resolution for hundreds of outstanding unfair labor practice
charges for union busting. The coffee giant has committed more labor
law violations than any employer in modern history. Starbucks needs to
fully resolve legal issues impacting baristas.

Not that I care either way as I've only been in a Starbucks once.

If they aren't careful, Starbucks will invest in AI-driven machines that can make coffee drinks quicker, more efficiently, with less waste, and which can work 24-hours-day, don't need breaks, health care, will never call in sick,
and will never demand a paycheck.

They are already such automated kiosks on street corners in L.A.

My local McDonalds recently closed down for two weeks and when it reopened, it was fully-automated. No one's even cooking the food. It's all done by robot arms and conveyor belts. That's what demanding to be paid $25/hr to shake the fry basket got them: no job at all.

Sounds like this place in Los Gatos that has similar setup.

The thing is any chain is likely to go this setup eventually, if they
can. It's just a matter of when the costs come down enough to
    make it worth the expense.
