Game of Thrones Sequels & More Prequels in Development,
    George R. R. Martin Reveals
    -------------------------------------------------------
Following yesterday's renewal announcements for House of the Dragon
and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, author George R.R. Martin
confirmed that there are currently five or six more Game of Thrones
    spin-offs in development at HBO.

This comes over six years after the original show wrapped up its
eight-season run. Despite the final season's negative reception,
the acclaimed drama still holds a high rating on Rotten Tomatoes,
with an average Tomatometer score of 89%.

What is the latest Game of Thrones sequel update?
During a recent interview with Spanish outlet Los Siete Reinos,
Martin has opened up about his involvement in the future projects
for the Game of Thrones franchise. He revealed that most of the
spin-offs in development are prequels, but also assured fans that
they're also working on potential sequels to the original series.

"Aside from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon,
there are other Game of Thrones spin-off projects in development,"
Martin said. "Most are prequels. There are several in development,
maybe five or six shows. And I'm not developing them alone, I'm
working with other people. Yes, there are some sequels."

Game of Thrones was created by showrunners David Benioff and D.B.
Weiss. It was based on Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novel series.
The ensemble cast included Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey, Kit Harington,
Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau,
Gwendoline Christie, Aidan Gillen, Rory McCann, Richard Madden, Sean
Bean, Pedro Pascal, and more. The show was able to win 59 Emmy Awards
    out of 161 nominations.

Not surprising, as GRRM never finishes anything he starts, so
doing sequels/prequels allows HBO to hire no-name hack screen
writers and just make up their own stupid shit.

Though the "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" (aka Dunk & Egg)
looks pretty good and GRRM has said they're following the original
story but then with only three novellas to work with, (S01 will be six
1/2 hour episodes) it's pretty easy to stick to the story.

IMO, the televised Game of Thrones ending (which most
people hated) was, in fact, the ending GRRM had planned
for the series. Now that he knows most people hate the
ending, it probably doesn't seem worth the bother of
    writing the books.

He might come up with a new direction, but he's not a
young man. If he doesn't need the money, I can see why he
    just quit.

He also wrote himself into a corner in the books (parts that the TV show smartly skipped), as I understand it.

Oh, no - that book series will never be finished. In fact, the next book
in the series will never be published.

Hollyweird doesn't hev the ability to actually stick to any source
material. The talentless egotistical idiot in charge always thinks they
know better what it "should have been" rather the person who actually
had the talent to create it in the first place.
