Our current Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre is, unfortunately,
struggling with his personal popularity, which is a shame. I far
preferred him to anyone else in the last election but the country has
more left-leaning than right-leaning voters so he didn't get enough
seats to win. There is talk about replacing him with someone better but
I had a hard time picturing someone better, at least on the federal level.
I think the person who should replace him - if he absolutely must be
replaced - is now clear: Premier Danielle Smith of Alberta. See if you
don't agree:

She affirms both the right to self-defence and the ownership of guns!
There aren't a lot of politicians who will dare do THAT in this country.
We need a lot more of that.
I have no idea if anyone has courted her for a move to federal politics
or if she has any interest but I'll be shocked if someone doesn't try to
talk her into a move.
