    I don't like Doc Martin.

    I don't know Doc Martin.
Only Doc Marten I know is the shoe maker.

It's a PBS series, been running for almost a couple decades. Mostly, I
don't like Martin Clunes, or at least the way he portrays the character.

The setup was he had to stop practicing surgery because he suddenly
couldn't stand the sight of blood. I have no idea if that's a thing.

For me, it was the same script from one episode to the next. The
characters were all cardboard. Some crazy character did something to
embarass the lead character, who is some sort of highly repressed
individual in all human interaction. When he gave sound medical advice,
    he was nearly always ignored.

I didn't find any of it entertaining.

Yeah, I've seen parts of it, and I agree.

However, I've seen Martin Clunes on other television and his performance
    is fine.

Daniel Brhl, Sydney Sweeney, and Toby Wallace; 2hr 9m.

Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby *and* Sydney Sweeney?!?!

Well, with a cast like that, I'd have to watch it even if all they did was
read the phone book for two hours.

Members Only: Palm Beach [new; complete season 1] (3:01
    am, Netflix)

Set within the exclusive enclaves of Palm Beach County, Members Only
follows a group of women navigating the unspoken rules, inherited
traditions and high-stakes hierarchies of America?s most rarefied social circles. In this manicured world of privilege and private clubs,
reputations are built over brunch, alliances shift over champagne, and
while wealth is ubiquitous, power, influence and access are the true currency. Eight episodes.

So basically this is just a remake of THE GILDED AGE in a different time period, which itself is a remake of DOWNTON ABBEY in a different time period.

Critical Incident: Death at the Border (documentary) (9
    pm, HBO)

Revisits the 2010 death of Anastasio Hernndez-Rojas, an undocumented Mexican immigrant who died while in custody at the border.

Notice how there's never any interest at HBO (or anywhere else) in making documentaries about any of the American citizens killed in the border region
    by illegal aliens.

Ricky Gervais: Mortality (comedy special) (3:01 am, Netflix)

I usually don't bother with comedy specials on streamers but Gervais consistently delivers a great show, so I'll check this out.

Follow My Voice (Sigue Mi Voz) (movie) (3:01 am, Prime Video)

After a health crisis that keeps her at home for 76 consecutive days,
Klara does nothing but listen to her favorite radio show, "Follow My
Voice". But one day she wonders: is it possible to fall in love with
someone you've heard on the radio, but never met?

Yes, it's possible if you're mentally ill.

I made an entire career out of dealing with people who fell in love with
people they saw and heard on TV and radio and the internet, who they never actually met. It usually resulted in involuntary committal.

Norman Lear's most famous shows from the '70s, All in the Family and
Sanford and Son, were adapted from British tv although I don't think
    specific scripts were adapted.

Three's Company was an American adaptation of a British series.

Here are two excellent adaptations. Touching Evil gave us both Jeffrey
Donovan and Vera Farmiga and was a major role for Pruitt Taylor Vince.
There were some original scripts and some remade scripts.

Cracker was remade, starring Robert Pastorelli, the one note character
Eldin from Murphy Brown. In this he proved his dramatic acting ability.
All the British scripts were remade; his performance was excellent. The American scripts were, alas, weak.
