This was Edward G. Robinson's final major role, and he goes out on a
high note. This movie has memorable individual scenes but isn't a good
movie as a whole. I don't find all of it entertaining.
Zardoz (blu-ray) 1974 movie starring Sean Connery as a...how to describe >him...savage killer living in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. He and his >tribe worship a floating head called Zardoz. At the start of the movie >Connery sneaks into the head and kills the man behind the curtain, then
he is taken to a futuristic society run by immortals who keep Connery
around as an amusement. However, this has all been part of a plan and >Connery is secretly plotting to kill them all. I've watched this movie
a few times over the years, and generally found it mediocre, but I think
I liked it a lot more on this viewing. I think the commentary which I
heard for the first time helped a lot. While this is not the first time
I watched in the proper 2.35:1 aspect ratio and unedited, this time I
was paying closer attention thanks to the commentary and appreciated it
more as little details were pointed out.
I find this movie unwatchable. I've never made it to the end.
A Boy and his dog (blu-ray) 1975 movie. . .
I keep meaning to watch this but after all these decades I never have.
