'The Night Manager' 2 -- a no-spoilers caveat

The 6-episode John LeCarre story 'The Night Manager' was (and is) among
the finer offerings that streaming has delivered. I read that, owing to
its success, LeCarre was potentially interested in doing a sequel, but
he died before serious talks got underway. Nevertheless, Amazon has
forged ahead with a "second season", for which, given the high quality
of the first, I dared entertain some hope. Having now watched it, I'd
like to convey my utter disappointment that it's no more than a setup
for another endless fucking serial. I hope LeCarre would be furious...
