Anderson Cooper plans to leave "60 Minutes" in latest CBS staff shakeup under
    Bari Weiss

"60 Minutes" correspondent Anderson Cooper plans to leave the program after nearly two decades, marking another shakeup at CBS News under editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, according to a report.

Cooper informed the network he would not renew his contract and will not return
for the fall season, though his remaining segments are expected to air through the end of the current run, Breaker Media reported.

[a] yes, the NY Post gave them credit!
alas, it doesn't like the legacy, as in ancient, browser

I wasn't a regular viewer, not even when I was a kid. I had zero respect
for the confrontational style of television interviews perfected by Mike Wallace. The anti-Mike Wallace is Brian Lamb. There are decades and
decades of his interviews in the C-SPAN archives. He asked hard hitting questions designed to force the subject to give a more revealing and
thoughtful answer in such a low-key way that interview subjects always
revealed themselves. It wasn't a trick and it wasn't a trap because he
always gave them as much time to answer as they needed.

Have I liked anyone since Harry Reasoner retired?

Anderson Cooper's reputation was daytime fluff. His interviews weren't
bad, I just never found that he learned anything. What was he doing on
what was supposed to be serious tv journalism?

As far as Bari Weiss, I liked her to the extent she gave certain people
very knowledgable about Israel a way to reach an Ameriican audience. I
never believed she had the ability to run a major news organization, not
having had any such experience. I'm not even sure she's looking for an audience.

I'm trying to say I'm experiencing loss for an important news
institution but it's meant nothing to me for a very long time and she
    hasn't fixed anything.

I can't pull up the breakermedia site on my up-to-date browser on my 6

I was in your shoes until about 2019 when I upgraded to a new computer
and OS. There are many good reasons why someone wouldn't want to
abandon their old system -- in my case peripherals like a printer and a scanner that are set up and working and even an old version of
Photoshop I find more user-friendly -- but have you considered two
computers? I use both of my systems every day. The convenience of
online banking would be impossible without the newer system.

Finding a place for two desktop computers can sometimes be a problem
but as luck would have it my house has a small counter I wasn't using
attached to the backside of a kitchen island so I just put the newer
computer on it. And a third computer with an "in between" system beside
that one so it's hard to keep me offline, lol.

And of course there's always laptops and tablets but I've just never
    been a fan of those.

BTW as for your Breakermedia story, you wouldn't have been able to
access it even with a modern browser unless you wanted to go through a subscribe routine. I couldn't even get it to work entering the URL into archive.today which you can usually use to bypass those kind of
    obstacles.

I have multiple systems but was using one of my older units.

(In my specific case, I have some of them 'cuz they'll oprate
older but completely adequete copies of Photoshop without
needing subscriptions/contacting Adobe and some other programs, too
