    Hah hah - though to be fair all 3 of our kids made the 'gifted' class
    in our district - #1 overall, #2 over the top in arts courses, average
    in math/science, #3 reverse of #2

    20 years later one is office manager in a payroll company, one is a
    commercial artist and the third builds robotic warehouses for Amazon.

    I think they did all right both with genes and with their environment
    growing up. They got to see quite a few things live - Canadian
    parliament, the E coast of Newfoundland, Disneyworld (meh!) and a
    shuttle on the launch pad (it actually launched the day after we got
    home which was my first born's birthday so she liked that as she had
    seen li live being transferred from the assembly building to the
    launch pad (which at a transportation rate of 1 mi / hour was done
    overnight). They also got to see the room where the Canadian
    constitution was signed in 1864 as well as seeing the 1812 overture
    being played on the front lawn of the Canadian parliament (and the
    gunner who let off the cannon at the wrong time...)

    I thought he was going to tell us the drain that collapsed was the one
    that served the NZ Parliament thus proving what most voters assumed
    from the beginning....(I assume NZ politicians are considered no
    better or worse than those in Canada or America...)

    It's not just New Zealand. It's worldwide that the "Politically
    Correct" idiocy is evident. You just have to look at British shows
    which now insist on having more ethicities, women, disabled people
    forced in to shows simply to appease quotas rather than anything to do
    with historical fact or even good acting ability (the black Issac
    Newton in Doctor Who being one of many many glaring examples).
