• A decade's worth of evidence in numerous criminal trials thrown out

California pulls out all stops in the race to the bottom!

A state forensics lab distributed urine testing and collection kits to
numerous police departments for a decade that were found to be faulty.
The urine collection bags were found to contain an inadequate amount of preservative, an anti-fungal. Without the minimum amount of anti-fungal,
yeast grows and causes fermentation, something that humans discovered
many centuries ago but was somehow unknown to the manufacturer. This
means that significantly higher levels of alchohol will be found in the
sample by the time it's tested than the the subject could have possibly
drunk. Somehow, the state lab never performed its own routine certification tests on the kits, something it's required to do. Somehow, no defense
attorney performed independent testing to question inexplicably high
    results.

Don't pay attention to any of this and just vote for Gavin Newsom for president. Everything will be fine.

And vote for Tom Steyer too. Yeah, sure, he's "Gov. Moonbeam, Part
Deux!" - surely nothing can go wrong with this!!1!...

Ian (I'm also betting Karen Bass gets reelected in L.A., which will
cause all the heads of all the transit nerds that now hate her to explode.)

My personal theory is that Nithya Ramen-- the L.A. version of Mamdani, a full-on communist-- is running for mayor in collusion with Bass so that
Bass will appear to be the "reasonable" more moderate choice.

It's very odd that Ramen would suddenly try and take Bass's job after years
of being one of Bass's biggest supporters if it wasn't some kind of
    collusive scheme.
