'Beyond the Gates' Renewed for Two More Seasons at CBS
    ------------------------------------------------------
The CBS soap opera "Beyond the Gates" has been renewed for two more
seasons and will air through the 2027-2028 broadcast season.

The network revealed the news at its CBS fall schedule announcement
press conference on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Created by Michele Val Jean, "Beyond the Gates" began in 2025 and
is the first new daytime soap to debut on a major TV network since
"Passions" in 1999. It's also the first daytime soap to feature a
predominantly African American cast since "Generations," which ran
on NBC from 1989 to 1991.

The show is produced in conjunction with the NAACP under its content
partnership with CBS, as well as P&G Prods. Paramount TV chair
George Cheeks said CBS has extended the first look deal with the
NAACP, with Sheila Ducksworth continuing to run that venture.
"They're still developing projects with us," he said. "But nothing
to announce besides that they just got a two-season order for
    'Beyond the Gates.'"

"Beyond the Gates" follows the Dupree family behind the gates of
their fictional gated community, nestled within their leafy Maryland
suburb just outside of Washington, D.C.

Tamara Tunie and Clifton Davis play the matriarch and patriarch,
Anita Dupree and Vernon Dupree, and their children Nicole and
Danielle are played by Daphnee Duplaix and Karla Mosley,
respectively. The cast also includes Alex Alegria, Lauren Buglioli,
Brandon Claybon, Timon Kyle Durrett, Sean Freeman, Ben Gavin,
Marquita Goings, Jibre Hordges, Jen Jacob, Maurice Johnson, Trisha
Mann-Grant, Mike Manning, RhonniRose Mantilla, Ambyr Michelle, Colby
    Muhammad and Arielle Prepetit.

Reviewing the soap in 2025, Variety chief TV critic Aramide Tinubu
wrote, "Soap operas aren't considered prestige programming, but this
new show offers viewers something more unique than over-the-top
storylines and tawdry romances. During a time when minority-led
series are vanishing from the small screen and the current government
is rampantly attacking diversity, equity and inclusion, 'Beyond the
Gates' is a reminder that Black people and people of color can't be
    erased."

During the event on Wednesday, CBS announced its full 2026-2027 fall
primetime schedule, which includes a new, New York-based "NCIS"
spinoff starring LL Cool J and Scott Caan, as well as previously
announced new series "Cupertino," "Einstein" and "Eternally Yours."
