• 'The Boroughs' (no spoilers)

A few episodes into 'The Boroughs' on Netflix, I can at least report
that my fears of it being a spiritual continuation of the ultimately
juvenile 'Stranger Things' appear to have been largely unfounded. E.g., there's cursing... and sex... and, so far, a plot...

It's basically just a knock-off of the old movie "Cocoon".

I enjoyed it quite a bit, mostly for the actors. I thought Geena Davis's character was great, although Alfre Woodard probably had the best
performance. I like Alfred Molina but wish his character had had more
than one look on his face. The basic storyline was evident pretty early,
but that didn't bother me. Thought the ending was a little weak,
probably brought it down from a 7.5 to a 7 for me. Still, I thought it
    was a lot of fun.

It's got a twist to it. A blend of Cocoon with Stranger Things...

Been a while, but I remember COCOON as rather more syrupy. Of course,
with two episodes to go, there's still time...

Yeah, good actors help even lightweight material to go down.

    A Stranger Cocoon?

    "Cocoon Things",
or "Stranger Cocoon Things", although that may be the spin-off sequel series.

    ;-)
