Hopefully the reality TV garbage will get a permanent "rest" ... in a
titanium coffin, buried sixty miles down, never to be seen ever again.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here Australia
    has officially been cancelled
    ---------------------------------------------
Please don't let the rumours be true!

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here has officially been cancelled
    by Channel 10.

In a statement to TV WEEK, a network spokesperson confirmed the
    sad news.
    ?
"We have made the decision to rest I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of
Here! in 2027 as we focus on offering our audience a range of
content on all platforms," they said.

"We look forward to working with Julia Morris and Robert Irwin on
    other projects."

For the hosts, Robert and Julia, it's a bitter sweet conclusion to
a wonderful partnership and they're sad to see the show come to an
    end. For now, anyway.

"I want to express what an absolute privilege it has been to work
on this show for the past three seasons," Robert said.

"I grew up watching this show as so many Aussies do, so to be part
of the fantastic team that make this series a reality felt like a
dream come true. We have had the honour of sharing incredible
stories and create a platform to shine a light on amazing charities
that our celebrities have supported along the way. And to do it all
alongside my co-host, and friend, Julia Morris made it a truly
life-changing experience that I will remember for the rest of my
    life."

Admittedly, the end of the show is also the end of an era for Julia,
who has hosted the series since 2015.

"I'm A Celebrity and our whole jungle family who make this show have
made it the best working experience of my lifetime. I have loved
every moment and will be forever grateful to Beverley and the whole
team at Network 10 for not only believing in this show but nurturing
it for 12 years. And to our jungle family watching from home, we
    love you."

The cancellation news was first reported by TV Blackbox on May 14,
with claims that Channel 10 and Paramount+ decided to axe the series
as a cost-saving measure. The publication claimed that the production
company ITV was searching for another network to house the series.

At the time, the network told TV WEEK that the series had not been
cancelled, and that the series' fate was still up in the air.

"Decisions regarding the 2027 program schedule including?I'm A
Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!?will be made in the coming weeks," the
spokesperson said, emphasising that this decision is common place at
this time of year before every season of the hit reality show.

TV Blackbox alleged that the cancellation was due to a drop in
ratings which made the network question whether shooting on an
expensive and elaborate set in the South African jungle was worth it.

According to press releases in January, Network 10 boasted it's
strongest I'm A Celeb launch in three years, with the season premiere
raking in an average of 925,000 total national viewers live. While
some drop-off is expected throughout the season, I'm A Celeb
delivered its biggest total audience since 2021, with 10 per cent
year-on-year growth and the biggest streaming audience to date, with
a growth rate of 106 per cent year-on-year

Despite the cancellation rumours, there have also been whispers that
the Australian I'm A Celeb might follow in the footsteps of the UK
series in having an All Star season.

Speaking to TV WEEK, a Network 10 insider hinted at the possibility.

"We love the enthusiasm, honestly, we do, and the passion for this
show never gets old," the jungle insider said.

"As always, we don't comment on rumours or speculation, but we will
say this: with over 160 former campmates to choose from, the
    possibilities would be endless."

The 2026 season of I'm A Celeb was a hit, with audiences falling in
love with the wild bunch of contestants. In the end, it was comedian
and Triple J presenter Concetta Caristo who won the Jungle Queen
title thanks to her humour, kindness and lovable nature.

It's fair to say that I'm A Celeb has a special place in the hearts
of many Aussies after more than 10 years on air. Fingers crossed the
series will come back to our screens after a little break!
