    Yesterday, I watched:

Trucker (Tubi) - From the depths of Tubi's vast catalogue! (of
    especially low-budget horror flicks!!):
Katherine Gibson. Is. Trucker!! (Well, OK, that's not right at all!
But it is fun to say!!)
About the only couple of good things I can say about this flick is
that, 1) Katherine Gibson is the only one in this flick who seems to be
trying to, you know, actually *act*. (Well, that's maybe not totally
fair, as adult internet "model" Dare Taylor manages to put some zing! in
    a couple of line deliveries - but maybe she's just playing herself?!);
and 2) at least this flick was better than Tubi's own similar "Tow"
flick (though that is probably not saying much!).
Anyway, I went in expecting something like "The Hitcher", or at
least "Duel", but we don't anything near that good.
Somewhat inexplicably set in 1985 (I guess it a avoids the
"cellphone trope" issue), a bunch of high/drunk young people (Gibson's character is in the car, but is the least culpable) run a trucker off
the road, apparently killing the trucker. But than a crazy local old
timer shows up, chasing the young people off while forcing them to leave
    one of their own behind.
Then it's a year later, and Gibson guilts her boyfriend into going
back to the scene of the crime to try to find out what happened to the
dude they left behind. This pisses off the boyfriend's brother, who was
the original driver who ran the truck off the road.
Low-budget murdery stuff ensues as the young people are chased
around a junkyard by the crazy (murdery?) old timer, and ???...
One confusing thing about this flick - everyone, including IMDb says
this film was first released in 2024, but the year of copyright in the
end credits clearly says "2025", so I think this film is newer than
2024. This would explain why Gibson is a better actress here than in her Lifetime(/Tubi?) flicks from last year, as I suspect she did "Trucker"
    *after* those.

    I also watched soaps yesterday:

GH - Josslyn *almost* manages to escape captivity. Jack Brennan gives
Valentin (and Carly) their marching orders (and Valentin doesn't like
it!). And Michael's stupid plan against Willow seems to be working, as
Willow seemed to be visibly drooling at Chase (which awful Tracy spied on).

DOOL - I like this: Marlena is actually attempting to coerce Xander! Heh.

    What did you watch?

With a healthy dose of The Exorcist thrown in for good measure. If they
had actually sold the movie as The Evil Dead Exorcist, I might have been
    able to enjoy it more.

    Wednesday night I watched:

Masters of the Universe (theatrical) the new 2026 live action version of He-Man (I watched the 1987 version a few days ago). This new version
stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam, who at the start of the movie
must flee his home world of Eternia, when he is still a young boy. The
young Prince grows to adulthood on Earth while dreaming of one day
returning to his home world, if he can only find the lost sword of
power, which is also on Earth. So the movie can happen, he finds the
Sword and is quickly rescued by his childhood friend Teela (Camila
Mendes) to return to Eternia, battle Skeletor (Jared Leto), and save the
    day.

This was a very frustrating movie. Comparing it to the 1987 version, it
like they took into account complaints about the 1987 version not
utilizing the cast of fantastical characters from the cartoon, so they
shoved them all (with one extremely notable exception) into the movie.
But the filmmakers ignored the complaint that the 1987 version spent so
much time on Earth. This new remake spends way too much time on Earth,
and there is no good reason for any of this movie to take place on
Earth. The 1987 version completely ignored the Prince Adam persona,
while the new 2026 version focuses too much on him, and not enough on
    He-Man.

Another problem I had with this movie was it was way too jokey and
flippant. I don't mind some light humor, but this movie didn't take the source material seriously at all. The recent Netflix revival of He-Man,
was perfect, and done totally serious. Why couldn't the new live action version have used that as a template? Anyway, it's a must watch for
fans, but if you're not already a fan, I don't see the appeal of this
version. But I think they have opened the door to improve in sequels.

I've been seeing a lot of ads for this. They must be promoting it
    heavily.

They may be late to the party. The Millennials are the ones who only
enjoyed things ironically, and they've mostly aged out of it. The
Zoomers have been pretty clear that they want earnestness and
    authenticity.

    What did everyone else watch?

I watched the latest version of THE MUMMY on the Apples.

A young girl is abducted in Egypt from her American family and
    subjected to

Is that Lee Cronin's The Mummy? It?s available to me, should I bother?

That would be it. It's pretty decent. Much more of a horror story than the >> ones with Rachel Weisz.

That's because it's basically an "Evil Dead" flick by another name.
