Yeah, this is a Lifetime flick that aired 2 years ago - probably doesn't merit inclusion in your list that it's just gone to Netflix. (Do you
know how many Lifetime flicks go to either Tubi or Hulu soon after
airing?! Too many for Robin to track!!)

Oh, thanks Ian. I wouldn't have listed it if I had known. I did exclude another movie that I realized came from Lifetime. Importing Lifetime

High school is a long time ago but I still remember that Shakespeare's
wife was ANNE Hathaway, not Agnes. If they can't even get the basics
right, it's hard to imagine them getting close on the rest....

This is a Stephen King novella, one of the four he wrote under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, and the second that's been made into a movie, the other being THE RUNNING MAN.

The film is quite faithful in its adaptation but doesn't have anywhere near
the depth of the book, since so much of the horror of the situation is experienced in the characters' heads and you don't get that in a movie.

Yeah, this is on my list but it definitely seems to be one of those
movies that you need to be ready for.

Uh, inner monologue? The Greeks figured it out when they invented
theater, and radio did a wonderful job with suspenseful drama for
decades.

Movies used to do it with film noir.

If the adaptation fails to adequately convey horror, it sucks.
