• Doctor Who broken on AMC

From anim8rfsk@3:633/10 to All on Tue Jul 14 22:43:03 2026
So I worked my way up to season five, which is Matt Smith and Amy Pond. I
did suffer the Donna Noble episodes and they were worse than I feared.

    But here?s the problem.

If you stop viewing for whatever reason, the fire stick doesn?t remember
your place in season five. It did in the first four seasons. But if you
stop or pause and go to resume in season five, it goes back to season one episode one, Rose.

And then you have to remember what episode you were on and fight your way
back through the menus to it and then fast forward up to where you left off
and then suffer all the commercials again.

I think this is a dealbreaker.

That's very strange. I'd tell them about that if I were you.

    Yeah, I'd probably quit too.

It?s done. And instead of the traditional model where you get the balance
of the trial period, It ends in a few days, a month early.

So I?ve come to the end of the Amy Pond episodes, but there are at least
half a dozen of them they skipped that may be somewhere but I haven?t found them yet. And they skipped the first two Clara episodes as well. I think I made the right decision in canceling AMC+

I forgot to mention the commercials. An enormous number of commercial
breaks with an enormous number of commercials in each break. Often playing
the same commercial in a single break half a dozen times. The worst is for skull candy, a line of incredibly expensive headphones that just have a
series of clips of things unrelated to headphones, like a guy without headphones, riding a skateboard down a stair railing and face planting into
a concrete sidewalk and clearly killing himself. Another clip is a guy with
a series of cloches (look it up) in front of him and he lifts one up to
reveal he?s eating a still living disembodied head.

Ah, my first exposure was Tom Baker in the 80s on the local PBS. Since
then I've managed to catch all of the versions and available episodes.

I am not the target market for those. Maybe young people think it's

Not buds. Phones. Huge things that look like they weigh 19 pounds.

I think the market is people who are stoned in the middle of the night and order those munchy meals.

Anyway, the last of my subscription ran out and just in time as I got to
the Danny Pink episodes and it switched over to Psych.
