The guest in that clip, Raymond Ibrahim, is an interesting figure. He's ethnically Egyptian but definitely NOT a Muslim: he's a Copt, the
Christian group that makes up between 10 and 20% of Egyptians, depending
on who's giving out the numbers. Ibrahim is very knowledgeable about
Muslim history all the way back to the beginning. He's got several books
about Muslim history. I haven't read any of them in full but have read
several excerpts and they strike me very favourably.
