FX announced in August 2026 that it greenlit the spinoff Legends, a meta miniseries that stars the original cast as fictionalized versions of themselves who face a real-world danger while reuniting at a fan
convention.
Charlie Hunnam, who led Sons of Anarchy as Jax Teller, developed the unconventional concept and serves as an executive producer after years of shutting down any hope that he would reprise his iconic role.
?He?s dead now,? The Gentlemen star told PEOPLE in November 2020 of his character, who seemingly died in the series finale. ?So there would be no
ever bringing him back ... When he died, he died.?
With Jax and many of the biker drama?s beloved characters meeting grisly fates, a traditional reunion was always unlikely. But star Theo Rossi, who played Juan-Carlos ?Juice? Ortiz, hinted to Deadline in March 2023 that
there could be a ?wild? way to get the gang back together, adding that if
it happened, it would be ?insane.?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the official logline reads, ?When the cast of Sons of Anarchy reunites at a fan convention after more than a
decade, the line between life and art blurs as the fractured brotherhood
finds itself up against a real-world threat more dangerous than anything
they ever faced in their show.?
FX Entertainment president Nick Grad said in a statement that Hunnam?s ?inspired idea? serves as ?both a love letter to the series and a fun meta twist on what fans think they know.?
