You literally couldn?t write a better parody. I wish I was rich enough to join
the DSA.
I'm starting to think you could summarize the DSA philosophy as:
"We don't want to work. Our parents pay our rent. The government should pay yours. Tax the rich."
This is a tale as old as time. Almost every single notable communist-- Lenin, Marx, Guevara, Castro-- they all follow the same pattern of coming from a privileged and wealthy background with no drive or ability to make anything out of themselves legitimately, so they start a 'revolution' of useful idiots to take what they want from the people who actually earn it.
It's kinda surreal actually: these same Communists say that the
proletariat (skilled industrial workers) must lead the country but the proletariat doesn't really have any great skill at setting a direction
for a government so they need to be guided by "the Vanguard of the Proletariat", who turn out to be the sons (and daughters) of the same proletariat that is being so viciously exploited by the capitalists.
