I watched two new Scrubs episodes, from the reboot. I stand by my
review of the first season: They feel exactly like more mid-
season episodes from the original show. They're forgettable, but
    watchable.

This time, the guys deal with aging, including being surpassed at
doctoring by younger colleagues. The new character of Libby isn't
panning out as well as I'd hoped; she's flattening and spending
too much time on the Todd. It's something to watch while
    knitting, though.

I don't think I made it past the pilot. It just wasn't for me.

    On Thursday I watched:

Dark Matter (AppleTV+) "What the Universe Is Made Of" - This episode
follows Jason as he stumbles upon two different individuals he met on
his multiverse travels who have coincidentally made their way to the
same world he is now on. They begin to wonder how in all the multiverse
do the same people keep running into each other. Meanwhile his
currently estranged wife decides to go to, I guess her parent's family
home, and is surprised when her runs into her duplicate's father. I
don't get why she would return to a familiar location or why she would
be surprised someone who knows her on this world would run into her
there. Then again the only thing more stupid than them settling on a
world where they have duplicates is sticking around familiar locations
where their duplicates and people who know there duplicates are likely
    to show up.

The Ark - "The Lucky Ones" - The first season this show was for the most
part hard sci-fi. I'm not saying it had good writing, but they didn't
even have FTL when the show started. And over time they have been
adding every sci-fi trope they can find. This week they do a combo of telekinesis, and the obligatory characters become intangible and can
phase through walls. Of course, they don't phase through the ground and *never* notice that detail and ask why not.

Digger (theatrical) New movie written and directed by Alejandro G.
I¤ rritu (Birdman) and starring Tom Cruise, John Goodman, and Riz Ahmed.
There has been a lot of mystery surrounding this movie, in particular
what the actual plot of the movie is, with some speculating it is a
secret musical. The movie is not a musical. I cannot divulge the plot, because the plot is a spoiler, and the filmmakers have gone to great
lengths to hide the plot in the advertising. So far, the movie seems to
be very divisive with people either loving it or hating it. I fall into
the really liked it category. I like movies like, "Brazil" which
"Digger" reminded me a lot of. I also read someone compare it to
Cruise's "Vanilla Sky" which I think also works. Unfortunately, since I
can't discuss the plot, I really can't say much about the movie. I'll
say this, about 30 minutes into the movie something happens, and when it happens, my first reaction was are the characters in the movie
*perceiving* what I'm seeing on screen. This is the type of movie that
even if you absolutely hate it, you'll remember it and still be thinking
about it afterwards. And if you like surreal mind-bending movies like "Brazil," "Mother!," "Vanilla Sky," or even I¤ rritu's own "Birdman,"
then it's worth checking out. I know a lot of people don't like those
types of movies. But I do like them. And this is a movie for people
who do like those types of movies.

I like Brazil. It should have been a better movie. Not commenting on the
studio cuts but the huge casting fuckups Robert De Niro and Kim Greist.
Giiliam allowed De Niro to intimidate him. De Niro refused to do the
script and demanded those stunts. He was expensive, delayed production,
and Gilliam ended up with too little footage to use. Greist simply could
not act. Again, that's why she's on screen so little and has no
chemistry with Jonatan Pryce. Michael Palin was one evil bastard.

OK, I?ve got the box Multi version set laser disk of BRAZIL, and I
certainly tolerated vanilla sky. So I?ll trust you on this one.

I don?t know that I?ll give you that the snARK was ever hard sci-fi though. Like Ian?s beloved the 98 gravity didn?t even go the right direction on the space station. and they kept stopping at all the different planets between
    here and Alpha Centauri.

Everything seems to be breaking down around me, hardware and software.
Today they were jackhammering in front of the house and managed to knock
out the phone service again. Apparently Century Link is telling people in
the city that they?re going to fiber-optic and there are whole areas they aren?t going to support anymore and just shutting off their phone service.
So I have no idea if they?ll fix it or what it will cost or if I?ll just
tell them to go away. And the fire stick is just playing willy-nilly
whatever it wants, which is making it really hard for me to remember what
I?ve watched and write reports on it.

The Plex a couple weeks ago did a complete revamp, and it was absolutely brilliant and worked beautifully and then a couple days ago. They did
another complete revamp and it doesn?t work at all.

The Amazon Music app I got a free trial on did a complete revamp as well.
And at first, it looked better but now I think it may actually be worse. I can?t imagine it could ever be good enough for me to pay $20 a month for
rented music at the end of the trial. Period though. You can?t make a playlist, and the only way to stop. It is to pause the music, exit the
program, and start something else that plays audio.

I dug into the Netflix, trying to find anything worth watching and realized
I?d never seen the second season of Wednesday. So I went through that
although it was totally confusing and I swear what they showed as episode
one of season two was actually the final episode of season one. Not that I hadn?t seen the plot before in a different earlier. Better show. Tim Burton
is nothing if not derivative. The best part was uncle Fester. At least T-Mobile gives it to me free but they?re also overcharging me 20 bucks a
month and lying about crediting it back to me. A lot of people are leaving
    the service.

The prime popped up Marineland carnival, which is an absolutely horrid
Munster, special advertising Marineland by having them stand there and
watch the performing seal act. I can remember going to Marine land about
that time, though with my parents so it was a nostalgia trip for me. First
time I ever had clam chowder. And like the Munsters, I wasn?t sure that it wasn?t some sort of fish store.

Speaking of stuff breaking down around me, spiel Chuck has started
punctuating at random, so I?m sorry if stuff is hard to read.

The prime started playing something called ?when calls the heart? which is apparently some old hallmark series. They also showed me SATISFACTION,
which is a 2007 Australian series with lots and lots of sex and nudity. And
the woman were hot but I had to keep reminding myself. I was watching
something that was 20 years old. And out of nowhere came THE STUDENT NURSES which I actually saw in the drive-in 50 years ago and I had to keep
reminding myself how old those women are now too. And bizarrely it played
the great old film BODY DOUBLE with my friend Brinke Stevens as ?3rd girl
    in bathroom?

This just all happens by itself at random. None of these things were in a watchlist or anything. And they aren?t even necessarily on Amazon prime.
But the prime, at least via the fire stick can access other applications
and play me shows from them. I am so confused.

Oh yeah, the show that Wednesday ripped off was SHERLOCK. And now it?s time
for the new episode of the Snark. Hard science. It is to laugh.

Yeah, but I couldn't think of a better way to draw the distinction
    between then and now.

Like Ian?s beloved the 98 gravity didn?t even go the right direction on the space station. and they kept stopping at all the different planets between here and Alpha Centauri.

Everything seems to be breaking down around me, hardware and software.

out the phone service again. Apparently Century Link is telling people in
the city that they?re going to fiber-optic and there are whole areas they aren?t going to support anymore and just shutting off their phone service.

I'm still paying for phone service, mainly because I can't figure out
how to get rid of it. Every time I call the cable company to discuss
lowering my bill, by getting rid of services I'm not using they insist
I'm grandfathered into an old plan that no longer exists and if I try to change it my bill will go up instead of down.

And since I'm renting the modem I decided I wanted to upgrade to the
newest model with all the latest bells and whistles. I probably can't
make use of any of the latest technology, but I want it anyway. But the
cable company is telling me I can't upgrade my modem because my
neighborhood hasn't been updated to the latest fiber-optics or whatever.
And when they do finally upgrade my neighborhood, the new modem
install will require a technician coming to my house to connect it to
    the new fiber optics.

So I have no idea if they?ll fix it or what it will cost or if I?ll just
tell them to go away. And the fire stick is just playing willy-nilly

Her are some shows I really liked:
    "Locke & Key"
    "3 Body Problem"
"The Fall of the House of Usher"

I haven't watched it yet, but "Talamasca The Secret Order" is now
available on Netflix. It is high on my get to it list. This is set in
the "Interview with the Vampire" universe.

I'm also still waiting to watch the second season of "The Sandman." I
really liked the first season. The second season is suffering from too
much time between seasons and now I've got other stuff to get to first.
But it's still high on my list.

    and realized
I?d never seen the second season of Wednesday. So I went through that although it was totally confusing and I swear what they showed as episode
