The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue

A really great documentary about Oct 7, 2023 in one of the kibbutzes
near Gaza. When the attack from Gaza begins, a young man with a wife and
two daughters reaches out to his parents in Tel Aviv for help. His
parents immediately hop in their cars to come to the rescue. The father
is a retired Major General with 35 years in the IDF and the mother
drives while he works his phone trying to get the IDF moving to rescue
the kibbutz. I won't spoil the details but the general tells the story
of what happened that day. It's a story of people working together and
getting things done in very difficult circumstances we can barely
    comprehend.

I was about to start that but I got intrigued by the first episode of WAR instead. (Sienna Miller... rowr!)

On the first Friday of Halloween month, I watched:

Night of the Living Dead (4K disc) 1968 classic zombie movie, written
and directed by George Romero. This was supposed to be background noise
with the cast commentary, but I ended up getting sucked into watching
the movie. I noticed those zombies were surprising fast and smart.
Early on one zombie picks up a brick to break a car window, that
    requires a bit of thought.

Night of the Living Dead (4K disc) 1990 remake directed by Tom Savini
and starring Tony Todd (Candy Man & Final Destination franchises) and
Patricia Tallman (Babylon 5). For the most part, this is a shot for
shot remake, but in color. Although watching both movies side by side,
I have to give the edge to Savini's remake. Being in color along with
the modern gore and effects gives it the edge over the original. Plus
the acting is a bit better. You can't go wrong with Tony Todd. This
was also a newly restored uncensored version, which may have helped.
Although I don't think I've watched this movie since probably the early
90s when it first came out, so I can't really compare versions of the
    remake.

Alfie (2004) is one of the few movie remakes that's enjoyable.
