Will Smith's Early Life Explored in New TV Show
After The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reboot
-----------------------------------------------
Following The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reboot on Peacock,
Will Smith seems to be working on a new TV show based on
some true events from his life. According to the latest
reports, the show will explore the 58-year-old's early
life.

Deadline recently reported that Smith is working on 215,
a show that focuses on his early life. It will also
document the actor's rise to fame with DJ Jazzy Jeff,
marking one of hip-hop's biggest early crossover acts.
The plot also delves deep into how Smith and co. chase a
record deal and experience significant financial success.

As they find their path to glory amid Philadelphia's
booming hip-hop scene, Smith and his friends face several
ups and downs. From label meetings and handling sudden
fame to staying loyal to their roots and testing their
friendship, 215 is the latest script based on the actor's
life.

What did Westbrook Studios say about the new Will Smith
TV show?
Westbrook Studios President Terence Carter said they
prefer to make stories with strong, interesting
characters, unique worlds, and perspective. Reflecting on
the upcoming show, he stated, "215 is especially
meaningful to us because it draws from the rise of
DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince and celebrates
Philadelphia during such a defining era in the city's
late-'80s/early-'90s hip-hop scene."

The Wesbrook Studios official also reflected on how the
Malar Group shares similar ideas. Carted said, "The Malar
Group shares our approach to storytelling, and this
partnership gives us the opportunity to build a slate
together with intention, beginning with a project rooted
in friendship, ambition and the integrity of this specific
time and place."

As the story delves into friendship and ambition, Sayan
Navaratnam, CEO of Malar Group, said they look forward to
working with Westbrook Studios on this project. Speaking
about 215, Navaratnam added, "215 caught our attention
immediately. It's the untold origin story of a show that
audiences around the world have connected with for decades,
but at its heart, it's about two people who believed in
each other, overcame extraordinary odds, and built
something that endured. 215 marks the start of a broader
collaboration with Westbrook Studios, and we look forward
to this project and the stories still to come."
